PowerMEMS 2007, Freiburg
From Nov 28, 2007 To Nov 29, 2007

PowerMEMS 2007

Congress and Convention Center

Freiburg, Germany

The objective of the PowerMEMS 2007 workshop is to catalyze innovations in micro and nanotechnology for power generation and energy conversion applications. The workshop will provide researchers with a forum for discussing latest research results and promoting progress towards commercialization.

The scope of PowerMEMS 2007 ranges from integrated microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) for energy harvesting and energy management to novel materials for energy conversion applications, with power levels from micro-watts to watts. Applications include portable electric power generation, e.g. for consumer electronics, the autonomous supply of embedded microsystems by energy scavenging, but also an effective cooling of microelectronics and propulsion techniques for micro air vehicles and nanosatellites.

The workshop will allow interaction between the multiple disciplines required for power MEMS, such as electrical, chemical, and mechanical engineering, chemistry, and material science. It will also provide a forum to address the needs for commercialization of novel Power MEMS technologies. The technical topics of interest include:
